Full Moon Drum Circle (Copy)
The second full moon of March is a Blue Moon.
Quite where the term blue moon came from is unclear. It may be a mispronounciation of the disused word “belewe” which means ‘to betray’. This may be a reference to the betrayal of the usual idea of having one full moon in each month or perhaps the “betrayal” by the Moon of worshippers attempting to determine the position and duration of Lent in the calendar year.
All genders are welcome to this drumming circle and ritual. Bring your own drum/instruments- though some drums are available. In person in the herchurch sanctuary.
Masks available. Please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of illness.
Drum pictured is a djembe. This goblet-shaped drum is traditionally carved from a single piece of African hardwood and topped with an animal skin as a drumhead. In western understanding, the drum belongs to the membranophone class of instruments in the percussion family. They are called membranophones because sound is created by vibration of membrane stretched tight.

September is the Full Corn Moon - and this year, it’s the Harvest moon.
The Harvest Moon and Full Corn Moon both typically refer to the full moon in September, marking the time for gathering crops. The Harvest Moon is specifically defined as the full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox, while the Full Corn Moon is the traditional name for the September full moon itself
September's full corn moon is so called because this is when crops are gathered at the end of the summer season. At this time, the Moon appears particularly bright and rises early, letting farmers continue harvesting into the night. This moon is also sometimes named the barley moon, and it is often the nearest full moon to the autumnal equinox, earning the title of 'harvest moon'.
All genders are welcome to this drumming circle and ritual. Bring your own drum/instruments- though some drums are available. In person in the herchurch sanctuary.

Full Moon Drum Circle
April is the Pink Moon.
Northern Native Americans call April's full moon the pink moon after a species of early blooming wildflower. In other cultures, this moon is called the sprouting grass moon, the egg moon, and the fish moon.
All genders are welcome to this drumming circle and ritual. Bring your own drum/instruments- though some drums are available. In person in the herchurch sanctuary.
Masks available. Please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of illness.
The drum pictured is a djembe.
