full moon drum circle

August 2025 is a Sturgeon Moon.

The sturgeon moon is named after one of the oldest and most primitive fish species, some astrologers believe that it spiritually signifies strength and resilience. August was the time of year when sturgeon fish are most easily caught in the Great Lakes and other northern hemisphere lakes and rivers.

All genders are welcome to this drumming circle and ritual. Bring your own drum/instruments BUT some drums are available. In person in the herchurch sanctuary.

Drum pictured is a
djembe. This goblet-shaped drum is traditionally carved from a single piece of African hardwood and topped with an animal skin as a drumhead. In western understanding, the drum belongs to the membranophone class of instruments in the percussion family. They are called membranophones because sound is created by vibration of membrane stretched tight.
