full moon drum circle

September 2025 is a Harvest Moon.

In 2025, the "Harvest Moon" refers to the full moon that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox. It is a time to celebrate the harvest of summer crops and prepare for winter, with the bright moonlight historically aiding farmers in late-night harvesting activities.

This year, the Harvest Moon may occur around the October 6th “Hunter’s Moon” based on current astronomical calculations.

All genders are welcome to this drumming circle and ritual. Bring your own drum/instruments BUT some drums are available. In person in the herchurch sanctuary.

Drum pictured is a
djembe. This goblet-shaped drum is traditionally carved from a single piece of African hardwood and topped with an animal skin as a drumhead. In western understanding, the drum belongs to the membranophone class of instruments in the percussion family. They are called membranophones because sound is created by vibration of membrane stretched tight.
